A violent shooting scene left a woman in critical condition and police in Romulus on the hunt for a dangerous fugitive.

Thurman Taylor known as “Tray” has a long history of violence, especially against women.

Now, police say he tried to kill his girlfriend with her children inside her home, then took off with promises of never going back to prison.

The shooting left the mother dying on the floor as her children called 911.

“This guy shoots into a house with three young children in there, this guys an animal, reckless behavior,” Deputy U.S. Marshal Aaron Garcia said.

Garcia says Taylor took off after shooting his girlfriend on April 14th.

“She was shot in the abdomen, she falls to the ground and is taken to the hospital in critical condition,” Garcia said.

Fortunately, she is expected to survive as the hunt intensifies to find Thurmon Taylor.

“His 2005 Cadillac is still not recovered he was driving in his crime, we don’t know if he hid it, if he stashed it somewhere or if he’s still driving it, we just simply don’t know, we need to find this vehicle, we need to find the fugitive, this coward that’s on the run right now,” Garcia said.

That license plate is DVM 3720, Thurman Taylor is 29-years-old, he’s 6-feet-tall and 230 pounds.

“This guy is a known documented gang member with the Gangster Disciples,” Garcia said.

And it’s not the first time he’s accused of trying to kill a girlfriend.

Taylor was released from prison in 2016 after serving prison time for an assault on his ex.

“He was accused of tying up his girlfriend at the time who was pregnant with his child, tying her up, assaulting her, trying to set her on fire, tying her to a chair, trying to set her one fire for a dispute then,” Garcia said.

The Marshals believe Taylor is heavily armed and will do whatever it takes to avoid going back to prison.

“This guys a complete danger to the public and the community because of his violent history,” Garcia said. “He has nothing to lose at this point.”
