A 52-year-old resident of Oxford, Michigan, was trapped after the semi truck he was driving crashed into a dentist's office in downtown Clarkston.

Police have not released the name of the driver.

The accident occurred on Main Street at Clarkston Village Dental across from the Clarkston Union. Police say they received a 911 call about a semi traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of M-15.

The driver of the semi truck was operating a 2011 Volvo tractor with two partially full trailers filled with dirt when he ran a red light at the intersection of Main Street and Waldon Road. Witnesses at the scene report that the driver veered left of the center of the road to avoid a collision with oncoming traffic.

The semi struck both a Chevy Trailblazer, driven by a 49-year-old Ortonville resident, and a Buick LeSabre, driven by 38-year-old Waterford resident, before slamming into the Clarkston Village Dental Office. The building next door also received minor damage.

The dental office reportedly had several people inside at the time of the crash, but no one was injured, according to a press release.

The semi driver sustained minor injuries, but refused to be transported to the hospital. He was cited for disregarding a traffic signal and released at the scene. The drivers of the two passenger cars sustained minor injuries but also refused transport to the hospital.
