A 16-year-old girl in Inkster suffered wounds from bullet fragments after a shooting in the area of Arlington and Mt. Vernon, according to Michigan State Police.
On Sunday at 1:17 a.m., the victim walked into Beaumont-Annapolis Hospital with wounds to her lower left leg.
Police say ten days earlier, her boyfriend got into a fight with some people in the neighborhood. The victim, her boyfriend and the victim's friend were sitting on the porch in the 600 block of Arlington when four men walked by asking for the victim's friend.
They all became involved in a verbal argument and the men left.
Shortly after, police say, two of the men came back and were on the opposite side of the street. One of the men shot a gun up in the air and then pointed the gun at the group on the porch and shot two or three more times.
The suspects were described by police as black males, 13 to 15 years old, between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 4 inches tall with short afros.
Police say one shell casing was recovered from the street and two small pieces of bullet fragments were recovered from the porch steps.
