Police say a man who was seen lurking around Kenwood Elementary in Clawson is an innocent resident who was "just reliving parts of his childhood."
On Tuesday, police received reports of a man lurking around the school. Police identified the man who said he used to live in Clawson and attended Kenwood.
He said he was in the area, parked in his old neighborhood and walked around, ending up at Kenwood.
The man said he did go to the front door of Kenwood, but then thought he would be wasting their time asking for a tour, so he left.
Police say he understands that he should have made contact with school personnel to eliminate this type of issue.
Kenwood did confirm that the man did go to their front door as instructed, but did not press the entry button and left shortly after without further contact.
