Police: Customer tries to use fake $100 bill at Dundee McDonald's

The Dundee Police Department is warning local businesses of customers attempting to use counterfeit bills.

Officers say a person tried to use a fake $100 bill for a food purchase at McDonald's Friday morning.

The bill passed a validity check, but the bill was noticeably smaller the regular size. The McDonald's manager took the bogus bill, told the customer change had to be made in the office and called the police.

Employees say the customer became nervous and left without the bill and his order.

Anyone with information about the incident or any businesses experiencing a similar situation should contact Village of Dundee Police at (734) 529-3430.
