Port Huron Police found three new violations after conducting a countywide sex offender sweep last week.
On June 4 and June 5, Port Huron Police participated in a compliance sweep in St. Clair County to make sure registered sex offenders were reporting accurate information.
During the two-day sweep, 278 homes were contacted and three violations were discovered. Authorities say they will seek warrants through the St. Clair County Prosecutor's Office for the violations.
Also, investigators will revisit five homes where there was no contact during the sweep.
The Michigan Sex Offenders Registration Act requires registered sex offenders to regularly report to their local law enforcement agency.
