It was an unusual robbery at a green light gas station in Detroit.

Police are looking for three men responsible for stealing a moped in the middle of the day.

“It was really scary,” said Kyle Williams, about the moment someone stole his moped at the BP gas station on Fenkell and Southfield.

Surveillance video shows what happened Thursday around 3 p.m.

Williams was leaving on his bright red moped when he was stopped by three men inside this black Chrysler 300.

He says at first they were asking questions about his moped he’s had for only four months.

“'Where did I get it from? How fast does it go?' Just simple questions. I didn’t think too much of it.”

Suddenly, Kyle says, one of the men showed him a gun while another came around and took the moped from him, driving off on Fenkell.

“Oh my goodness, this is real. This is really happening.”

The 23-year-old tells us the other men in the car quickly drive off.

Now his only mode of transportation that cost him $1,000 is now gone.

“I commute on it to get back and forth to River Rouge and Belleville and all over Michigan,” he explained. “Makes me feel empty. I work hard. I don’t bother anybody nor do I steal. I got to work everyday.”
