WYANDOTTE, Mich. (WXYZ) — The Wyandotte Police Department is warning the public of a new scam involving "motion picture money."
Police say the bills look real, but upon closer inspection, have the words "motion picture purposes" on them. They are involved in "lots of scams," police say, with the most common ones involving Facebook marketplace and Craigslist purchases.
Scammers reportedly put real bills in front of and behind the phony bills.
Police warn residents to check all bills during purchases.
