DETROIT (WXYZ) — Archbishop of Detroit Allen H. Vigneron will offer an outdoor Rosary at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, on the plaza outside the Basilica of Ste. Anne.
It's located at 1000 Saint Anne St., in Detroit.

All attendees are asked to wear masks and observe safe social distancing practices.

The gathering comes nearly two weeks after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis sparked outrage and prompted protests nationwide, including in the Detroit area. On May 29, Archbishop Vigneron sent a letter to the Black Catholic community acknowledging the “deep, familiar, and soul-crushing ache” that had been reawakened by the incident.

In addition, the Archdiocese shared through social media the Archbishop’s 2018 pastoral note condemning racism as the denial of a person’s inherent dignity: Agents for the New Creation: A Pastoral Note on Christ’s Victory Over the Sins of Racism.
