Parents and students at Old Redford Academy are attending a meeting that comes hours after the students staged a walk out, part of a protest over the alleged firing of multiple staff members.

The students and their parents say they've been left in the dark as to why the staff members have been placed on administrative leave.

Among the staff members who have been placed on leave are teacher and senior advisor Angela Stanley and Principal Charles Davis.

Students say there were told Stanley left for personal reasons. But they are also questioning if she was let go because of efforts to help students raise money to see the movie Black Panther.

An email told parents that Davis was placed on administrative leave, but no other explanation was given.

Multiple attempts by 7 Action News to reach school officials by phone were unsuccessful.
