P!nk will be rocking Little Caesars Arena this weekend, but police are warning that not everyone who believes they have tickets will be able to get in to see the show.
Ferndale police tweeted a warning about multiple reports of counterfeit tickets being discovered for the show. One tweet even showed a man arrested for selling fake tickets.
The show is being put on by Live Nation and there are tickets still available.
However, the most affordable verified re-sale tickets we could find on Ticketmaster were for $160. With most selling for around $200, people are searching for cheaper tickets everywhere.
"When they don’t have that reputable partner or a Craigslist seller or any other kind of online seller that’s not necessarily sanctioned by Stub Hub or Ticketmaster, you have the potential of fraud," says President of the Eastern Michigan Better Business Bureau Melanie Duquesnel.
The BBB suggests doing your homework if you do buy from Craigslist or a scalper, so you don't have any problems.
"You have to know what the ticket should look like, and you can generally look online for the really big venues. They’ll have an example of the ticket online so you can make sure that what you are getting is true," says Duquesnel. "Have your smart phone handy. look at where these seats are actually located. And if for whatever reason that seat doesn’t exist you already know not to give them the money so be careful."
Experts say a failsafe can be to pay using Paypal or a credit car that protects you from fraudulent purchases. That way, even if the ticket doesn't get you in the show, you won't lose the money.
