An off-duty Detroit police officer was assaulted in the location of Randolph and Gratiot on Sunday.
He was walking in the area when he was jumped from behind and assaulted by three to four men, police say.
The officer suffered a laceration to the eyebrow and a kick to the head.
Police say he is in stable condition.
