An 18-year-old Shelby Township girl died from her injuries after a car crash in Macomb County at North Avenue and 24 Mile Road.
At 12 a.m. Friday, a green 2002 Ford Escape and a silver 2014 Chevrolet Cruze collided at the intersection, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.
The Ford Escape was traveling southbound on North Avenue and the Chevrolet Cruze was traveling eastbound on 24 Mile Road when the collision occurred.
The driver of the Ford Escape is a 30-year-old man out of Chesterfield and was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
Haley Nardoni, the driver of the Chevrolet Cruze, was taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries. There were two additional female passengers in the car, both 16 years of age. They were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
Macomb County Sheriff's detectives continue to investigate the crash. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
Police say all occupants, with the exception of the Chevrolet Cruze back seat passenger, were wearing seatbelts.
