A man was fatally hit by a pick-up truck in Macomb Township at 3 a.m. Thursday morning.
Macomb County Sheriff's deputies were called to the area of 23 Mile Road and North Avenue to check for a man walking in the roadway.
While attempting to locate him, deputies discovered that a truck had just struck him.
The 2015 black Ford pick-up truck was traveling northbound on North Avenue when it struck him south of 23 Mile Road. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 35-year-old Macomb Township man, was released pending further investigation. Police say it does not appear that drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
