They drove from Iowa, Minnesota and New York to see their President up close here in Michigan.

They call themselves “Front Row Joes” and plan to camp out overnight to be first in line for the rally tomorrow night in Washington Township.

“It will be a mad dash at 8 o'clock in the morning,” said Randal Thom from Minnesota.  “We’re going to have to spend the night in a car out here to get in,” said Mike Tomich from Imlay City.

Trump is not attending the White House Correspondents annual event during which the President is roasted and the sitting President fires back with jokes of his own. Trump did not attend last year.

His supporters say they’ll turn his trip from Washington, DC to Washington Township into a love fest.

“We’ve been praying for him for years. God sent him here to restore our country,” said Peggy McNeil from Battle Creek.

Michigan Democratic Party Chairman Brandon Dillon and other Party members called a news conference to remind people Trump and the Republicans are still cutting Obamacare and health care.

And Dillon said about Trump’s popularity, “Every day that loyal following gets smaller and smaller as people see the broken promises.”

The rally is at Total Sports in Washington Township. Tickets are only available online.

The doors open at 4pm. The rally is set for 7 p.m.

A ticket does not guarantee entry, it will be first come, first served until the event is full.
