Jackson Pype, a Wixom teen who suffers from a rare genetic disorder, just got his Make-a-Wish granted!
Jackson and his family were flown to Houston to meet Justin Verlander. Jackson also got to spend time with the Astros team, too.
Jackson got a signed glove from JV and a bat from Brian McCann. He also received a jersey with his name on it. It was signed by the team.
"It made me feel good, happy to have this experience," Jackson says.
His mom, Ronda, says Verlander "was an amazing man. He just treated Jackson like he was one of the guys."
Jackson's best chance of survival is a bone marrow transplant. So far, his brother is a half match, but they're holding out hope they'll find a full match for Jackson soon.
"Not only Justin, the whole team .. they all said I can get through this," says Jackson.
A bone marrow donor for Jackson needs to be between 18 and 44. A simple cheek swab can determine if you're a match.
