Shaun Wheeler will stand trial on charges of First Degree Premeditated Murder and Felony Firearms. The penalty is life without parole if convicted.

He created controversy among both his and his wife’s families when he claimed his wife, Cory Ehlers, was divorcing him and had already allegedly started having an affair.

Testimony in court shows how Wheeler told police he had threatened his wife before.

During an argument last month in their house, he went to the garage and got a gun, came back and allegedly shot his wife twice in the head.

A Sheriff’s Deputy also testified when Wheeler turned himself in after the shooting, he dropped to his knees, put his hands behind his head and said he killed his wife.
