An 85-year-old Detroit woman said she was horrified, after falling victim to a sophisticated scam ---that all seemingly started with her landline phone being compromised, before escalating into full blown identity theft. 

She’s said despite the proof, she’s been left to foot nearly $10,000 in costs for fraudulent transactions, because of a banking institution that’s refused to remove the charges.

But when 7's Taking Action reporter Ameera David stepped in, the money was credited back.
