Families in Taylor are forced to rebuild, after a fast moving blaze ripped through their homes.

It happened at Wick and Holland.

It was late afternoon when neighbors say they smelled something burning. When they looked outside, they saw smoke and then quickly there were flames.

Everyone was able to get out safety.

However, there were a lot of obstacles stacked up against the firefighters that were beyond their control.

There were downed wires, a gas leak, melted gas meters, and strong winds.

The winds were so strong, they blew the fire from a garage to the attached home and to the house next door.

Danielle Carmody and her fiance just moved into their home in January. it is their first home and they worked hard to get it.

“We believe that there was a reason and that God did this for, a reason and He, He has a plan that’s bigger than me. He’ll come through,” says Carmody.

The city of Taylor will help those who are displaced because of the fire.

We’re told the blaze started in a utility room. Investigators are still working to determine the exact cause.
