Anyone traveling with loss powder over 350 milliliters, or 12 ounces, will now have to put it in their check-in luggage instead of in their carry on.

The rule will apply to powdered products like baby powder, cosmetics, and protein mixes.

The main concern is about powdered explosives that can be snuck into powdered products. The TSA is also worried about fentanyl and pepper spray making its way onto the plane.

People using the Detroit Metro Airport tell 7 Action News they don’t mind the inconvenience if it means they will be flying safely.

“If that’s what they need to do, and I do use that so but it doesn’t bother me,” said Carrie Leshika.

“If you already have a container for your liquids whats a couple more items to put in there?” said Sandra Bannister.

The rule will also apply to international flights starting June 30th.
