LAKE ORION, Mich. — It’s Restaurant Report Card Wednesday, and this week, WXYZ’s Andrea Isom is in Lake Orion, where the city’s motto is “where living is a vacation.”

There are plenty of places to wine and dine in the city, but a few restaurants didn’t quite make the grade.

Lockharts BBQ on E. Flint Road is known for its ribs and brisket, but what was not so pleasing to the palette was the seven priority violations found on the Oakland County Health Inspection report.

The inspector found violations ranging from soup and chicken not properly dated, which can be dangerous and stainless steel cleaner mixed in with clean dishes.

Next up, Isom visited Valentino’s Italian Grill on Broadway Street.

The fine dining restaurant had ten priority health violations on the latest report, ranging from scooping ice with bare hands (ewww) to raw shrimp sitting next to cooked seafood and an unwashed expresso wand for an unknown amount of time.

Pita Way on N. Park Blvd. got a clean bill of health with zero violations.
