Rochester Officials: Mercury not detected, water is safe

Rochester City Officials said in a press conference Tuesday that Mercury was not detected in the water after students at a local school conducted a science experiment that reported high levels of mercury. 

In a release, the city was advised by Paragon Laboratories that the result of all water test samples taken at Van Hoosen Middle School and Rochester Adams High School have not detected mercury in the water samples. 

Rochester Community Schools will resume normal school schedule and students will return to class on Wednesday, the release added.
