A city-wide boil water advisory has been lifted, according to the Department of Public Works.

Samples collected across the distribution system showed no contamination.

A large water main break caused a city-wide boil water advisory earlier in the week, after a previous drop in pressure.

According to the city, the water main broke at Michigan and Maple.

The city advises residents to run cold water on tap until you feel the temperature drop and also to run several cups through refrigerator water lines prior to resuming normal use of your water.

The Department of Public Works added that the East Michigan Avenue boil water advisory remains in effect, but is anticipated to end by 8:30 p.m.
