Several schools are on lockdown near Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak as police search for a man they'd like to talk to.
We're told that Queen of Martyrs School and Greenfield Elementary are locked down and that all of Berkley Schools are in a shelter in police due ot the incident.
Police say there is no immediate threat and the lockdown is a precautionary measure until they can locate the person.
According to Royal Oak police, the man was turned away from a military recruiter for possessing a weapon but the man is a valid CPL holder. He was last seen in the area of the Beaumont Royal Oak campus.
There was initial information that he was upset or distraught about being turned away. As a precaution they advised local schools.
They would still like to talk to him but there is no information that he is suicidal or a threat.
In a statement, Beaumont Hospital said the hospital has a heightened level of security due to a potential threat of violence in the area. The campus is open and under normal operations.
Police originally reported that he was a patient who left the hospital.
