A police vehicle was hit by a suspected drunk driver Thursday evening.
According to a release, at around 6 p.m., Shelby Town Police officers were responding to a call about a suicidal person armed with a knife.
The fully marked police vehicle was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of 23 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue.
Police say alcohol may have been a factor. The officer in the police car at the time of the crash was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
