Local and federal police agencies will hold routine training on the Wayne State University campus in Detroit Thursday.

Simulated gunshots and explosions may be heard. The exercise will assist in ensuring that first responders in the Detroit area are ready to respond to any large scale coordinated attacks.

There will be road closures until 3 p.m. on Warren Avenue between Cass and Anthony Drive and Second Avenue between West Hancock and West Warren.

Additionally, there will be a large presence of law enforcement, fire personnel and EMS, including tactical response vehicles.

The following buildings will be closed until 4 p.m:

  • 5045 Cass (Science Hall)
  • 5101 Cass (Chemistry)
  • 5143 Cass (State Hall)
  • 5000 Gullen Mall (Life Sciences)
  • 5048 Gullen Mall (Science & Engineering Library)
  • 5104 Gullen Mall (Linsell House)

The following parking lots will also be closed:

  • Lot 54 (Old Main)
  • Lot 53 (Physics)
  • Lot 60 (W. Forest Dirt Lot)
