A suspect wanted in connection to a homicide in Alaska was arrested in Eastpointe on Thursday, and is now in Macomb County Jail.

According to the Anchorage Police Department, Linda Richards, 49, is the suspect in a homicide investigation from Jan. 28. She's wanted on charges of second-degree murder, kidnapping and first-degree robbery. A warrant for her arrest was issued on Sept. 14.

Detectives received a tip that Richards had fled Alaska, prompting the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service in locating her.

On the morning of Thursday, Oct. 18, Richards was found hiding inside a residence in Eastpointe, Michigan. There, she was taken into custody and transported to Macomb County Jail in Mt. Clemons, according to public records.

Richards is wanted for her alleged involvement in the shooting death of a man inside a residence in Alaska on Jan. 28.

A second suspect, 18-year-old Austin Cottrell, has been jailed in Anchorage. He was arrested on an unrelated investigation and faces the same charges as Richards.

Alaska detectives are working with Michigan law enforcement for the suspect's extradition back to Alaska, a press release states.
