Two men have been arrested in connection to home invasions that occurred in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties.
On March 28, a residence in the 19800 block of Eastwood was forcibly broken into, police say. Two men were seen fleeing the scene in a small silver SUV. Jewelry, credit cards and a firearm were stolen from the residents.
Harper Woods detectives arrested Harlan Spight, 52, in Detroit. Detectives executed search warrants on four homes in Detroit and recovered numerous items of stolen property, including several jewelry boxes, a rifle, firearm magazines and ammunition, credit cards, personal identifications and hundreds of pieces of jewelry.
Police say the stolen property has been identified as property stolen in home invasions in several cities, including Harper Woods, Detroit, St. Clair Shores, Livonia and Waterford. Spight was formally charged on Thursday with the following: two counts of home invasion, larceny of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, larceny in a building and four counts of identity theft.
Spight's bond has been set to $100,000. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.
On Thursday, detectives arrested the second suspect connected to the home invasions. The 45-year-old Detroit resident will face similar charges as Spight. He will be identified once he is arraigned.
