Three people have been charged in connection to the death of Starkisha Thompson.

The 33-year-old woman was shot and killed in an ambush outside her home on Collingham near Cordell on Detroit's east side on the morning of Oct. 9 shortly after dropping her teenage son off at school.

She was killed six days after testifying against Kenneth Dixon, 26. Dixon was arrested in Harper Woods last month after he allegedly carjacked Starkisha and her boyfriend.

Jah-Iana Streeter, 23, is allegedly Dixon's girlfriend, according to a police source. Corey Holmes, 39, is an ex-con who met Dixon in prison.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig says the suspects tried to buy Starkisha's silence and she refused, and instead stood up to do the right thing, knowing that her role in helping to prosecute Dixon could save someone else's life.

Streeter, Dixon and Holmes have each been charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder - first degree, witness intimidating - committing a crime, witness - retaliating against.

Holmes has also been charged with felon in possession and three counts of felony firearm.
