Warren police are investigating after a man was robbed of $19,000 at gunpoint while he took out trash outside of his home on Thursday morning.
According to police, the man had the $19,000 in his pocket, proceeds from some sort of settlement check he claims he cashed on Wednesday. The incident happed on Maxwell Ave. near 9 Mile and Van Dyke.
The victim told police a man jumped out of the bushes armed, pulled the gun and stole the money.
According to police, the suspect is described as a black male in a dark hoodie with a handgun. He fled the area in a gray or silver Chevy Cavalier.
