A woman is accused of committing retail fraud at TJ Maxx located at Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Township.

Police say Ebony Monea-Evette Haden, 26, of Pontiac, entered the store with a 5-year-old girl and filled a shopping cart with merchandise valued at $265.

She entered the checkout line, got a reusable TJ Maxx shopping bag and filled it with most of the merchandise. Police say she concealed a pink flat iron, valued at $25, in her purse.

Haden is accused of walking past all points of purchase without attempting to pay for anything, and then attempted to exit the store. A Loss Prevention Officer confronter her and attempted to detain her.

Police say she left the bag of merchandise in the store and pushed her way past him to exit the store with her purse. She was gone when police arrived.

Haden was already on probation in Oakland County for retail fraud when the incident occurred, police say. She was subsequently arrested and charged with retail fraud and assault and battery. Her bond is set for $10,000.
