The Detroit Police Department is seeking assistance locating a woman seen taking a dog from a residence on the city's southwest side.

On May 7, a woman entered the front yard of a house located in the 1200 block of Hubbard. In the video, she takes a leash that was on the front porch, puts it on the dog and escorts the dog out of the yard.

Police say she then left the scene in a white SUV, possibly a 2003-2004 Chevy Suburban. It is possible that the woman in the video thought it was abandoned, police say.

She is described as a white woman, aged 50-60, with shoulder length blond hair, wearing a pink hooded sweatshirt. She was with a young girl with natural blond hair in a ponytail.

The dog goes by the name "Totem" and is a pug mix, with a unique brindle coat. She has a dark snout and a white shield or heart on her chest, with a curly tail. She weighs about 22 pounds and has an MHS tattoo.

Anyone with information is asked to call DPD at 313-596-5400.
