Two Wyandotte police officers took a woman out for a milestone birthday – her 100th.
In a Facebook post, Wyandotte PD says they have received several calls over the years to the home of a a woman named Mary Giaimo.
Officers knew Mary quite well and found her to be a "very sweet and independent lady.
Officers N. and A. Stathakis had not heard or seen from her in a while, so they went to check on her to make sure she was well. She was, and during the visit the officers learned Mary was going to be turning 100 years old.
After learning that she didn't have any birthday plans and loved Italian food, the officers asked her if they could take her out to celebrate her birthday. She was ecstatic.
The officers worked to organize a 100th birthday dinner and celebration for Mary, which took place Monday evening.
