COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — A newly opened bubble tea shop in Commerce Township is hoping to greet new customers to keep business afloat.

“Andy and I wanted to bring something to the community that we do not have around here,” said owner Alice Nguyen.

Her brother and sister-in-law own nearby Bella Nails and Spa, which has been in business for the last decade.

It was this past fall the family decided to team up to open Presotea. The opening date was March 20, the day before the stay-at-home order was put in place.

“We were hoping, and we were relying on a lot of people coming and gathering,” said Nguyen.

Instead, they had to formulate another plan, and decided to stay open for carryout orders despite being new to the community.

“There were days where we were only selling five to 20 cups and were like 'yes, this is a great day',” said Nguyen.

After three months, the bubble tea shop has survived the worst, and now they are hoping to continue to see new faces. Nguyen says word of mouth has helped.

“We want to make sure that you guys know that we appreciate you, and we are very looking forward to continuing to serve this community and hopefully we can expand once things settle down and everybody kind of goes back to the new norm,” said Nguyen.

Bella Nails and Spa is also now open, with new safety measure in place, including no walk-ins. People can call to make an appointment at (248)360-6150.

Presotea is now operating back at their normal business hours, Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
