SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — A Shelby Township laundromat is doing its part to help frontline workers stay clean and safe.
Sudz Coin Laundry is offering first responders and health care workers 25 percent off their laundry services, including their drop-off service, where employees will wash, fold and hang the laundry for you.
“We have seen more health care workers using that service because the way I understand it is they are working double shifts, they are literally risking their lives to be at work helping keep everyone safe, and so when they got a few hours they are not working, they probably don’t want to spend it doing laundry themselves,” said owner Jason Ghannam.

Right now, those working inside the laundromat are wearing gloves and mask. They are cleaning every two hours. The one thing that currently remains the same are their hours.
“We’re maintained regular hours, so that we can keep the traffic pattern as open as possible, so there is less people during each time someone is here,” said Ghannam.
They have limited the amount of chairs inside to encourage people to wait outside in their cars to switch out their laundry. The parking lot does have free WiFi for people to take advantage of.
For those who do not feel comfortable stepping foot into the laundromat, an employee will come and take your laundry for you from the parking lot.
