(WXYZ) — Value City Furniture is opening two new locations in Southeast Michigan and plans on hiring 65 new positions.
New locations in Ann Arbor and Westland are slated to open early March 2021. They will take over two recently closed Loves Furniture locations.
Value City Furniture will be hosting open interviews for 65 new positions to staff these new locations on December 18 in Novi. The open positions include Assistant Manager, Sales Manager, Warehouse and Home Furnishing Consultants.
“We were saddened to learn that Love’s was closing some of its doors. This has been a tough time for retailers, especially in the wake of COVID-19,” said John Schottenstein, president of VCF, in a press release. “When ArtVan seized operations, we were able to take over six of their former locations across Michigan and retain many of their team members. We hope to be able to follow suit in this case. We love being here in Detroit and its surrounding areas. Everyone at Value City Furniture is looking forward to continuing to help Michiganders who may be in need of a new career or even looking for new furnishings for their homes.”
The hiring event will be held on Dec. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m at the Value City Furniture location in Novi.
Masks or facial coverings are required for all applicants in attendance. The hiring team on-site will enforce social distancing protocols. Applicants should bring several copies of their resumes. No advance registration is required.
