It's official: Adrian Peterson has signed a one-year contract with the Lions.
The team announced the deal with the 35-year-old running back, who was released by Washington on Friday.
Peterson has rushed for 14,216 yards over 13 seasons. He is 1,053 yards behind Hall of Famer and Lions legend Barry Sanders for fourth all-time on the NFL rushing list.
The Lions placed running back on Bo Scarbrough on injured reserve.
