(WXYZ) — Detroit City FC announced its inaugural women's schedule which will begin in May. The women's team will compete in the United Women's Soccer league.
The team will host its first-ever match at Keyworth Stadium on Saturday, May 9 starting at 7:30 p.m. against Midwest United.
They'll play in the UWS Midwest Conference which features AFC Ann Arbor, Detroit Sun, Grand Rapids FC, Lansing United and Michigan Legends.
Nine teams will compete for the title of conference champion and get an automatic berth into the four-team UWS National Championship held the weekend of July 17-19.
The UWS summer season runs from May through July. The league began in 2015 and is in the second division of women's soccer, below the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
Single-match tickets for men's and women's season will go on sale Monday, March 2 at 10 a.m. at tickets.detcityfc.com.
