(WXYZ) — The Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints will play Sunday at Ford Field after the COVID-19 re-test for a Saints player came back negative.

On Saturday, there were reports that a Saints player tested positive for COVID-19 after landing in Detroit. But after a re-test and contract tracing, the player's test came back negative, and those who were tested through contact tracing also came back negative.

Several outlets are reporting the negative re-test.

The game was in jeopardy if the player tested positive for COVID-19 on the re-test.

The NFL has already had two games postponed this week due to positive COVID-19 cases.

The Tennessee Titans had eight players and eight personnel test positive for COVID-19 since last Sunday, forcing the postponement of their game against the Steelers to week 7.

Also, the Patriots vs. Chiefs game was postponed after both teams had positive tests. That game is planned to be played Monday or Tuesday.
