Matthew Stafford and the Lions don't appear to be any closer to signing a contract extension.
Lions general manager Bob Quinn told fans negotiations are feeling good on both sides, but led fans to believe they're not anywhere near the end of the process.
"I’m confident we’ll get something done. There’s a long way to go on that, but it’s good on both sides," Quinn told fans at Saturday's mock game at Ford Field.
"It doesn’t bother him, it doesn’t me."
Stafford is entering the final year of his current contract, and is set to make $16.5 million in 2017.
Derek Carr signed a record deal with the Raiders this offseason that will pay him $25 million per season.
Stafford is expected to sign for more than that if/when a deal gets done.
