ALLEN PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) -- The Lions have signed safety Glover Quin to a contract extension through the 2019 season. The team announced the move Sunday prior to the first practice of training camp.
Further terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team, but ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the extension is worth $13 million, including $9.5 million in guarantees.

During Saturday's media availability, Quin had stated he was hoping to a get a deal done if the Lions were willing to re-sign him.

Quin is entering his fifth season with the Lions, joining the team as a free agent in 2013 from the Texans.
