He's the only head football coach the school will ever know, and his legacy now is tops in the state.
John Herrington won his 430th high school football game, 17-14 over Oak Park Friday night, and has now tied the all-time state record.
He's just one win away from having the record for himself.
"We haven't won a big game in awhile," Herrington said after the game. "Next week will be a good week."
