Lions head coach Jim Caldwell was asked his definition of successful season was.
"Winning it all is a sign of success," Caldwell claimed.
After the second playoff appearance in the last three seasons, the Lions are gearing up for another season in Allen Park.
There's plenty to be hopeful for, as running backs Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick are back and healthy, while the team brought in free agent offensive linemen Rick Wagner and TJ Lang to shore up the front.
But injuries are still lingering, especially with former first round pick Taylor Decker's status still unknown.
Matthew Stafford's contract talks similarly somewhat a distraction.
But all those questions will have answers as the long season plays out, and for now it just the start of something new as practice gets underway on Sunday.
