The Lions have placed Matthew Stafford on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

Stafford was not at the open portion of practice on Wednesday, and didn't speak to reporters during his usual weekly availability. Now we know why.

The NFL and NFLPA say a player is placed on that list if he tests positive for COVID-19 or comes into contact with someone who has.

Kelly Stafford, Matthew's wife, posted on Instagram a video saying their entire family has been testing negative since Monday.

"We are all negative, my husband is negative. There was just a certain exposure, so we've been testing since our exposure and we are all negative," she said.

He's eligible to come off the list Sunday and play in the game, pending negative test results.
Linebacker Jarrad Davis was placed on the list on Tuesday. He was the first player on the team listed on it since August.

Stafford went on the list in August, but the Lions later said the reason he did was because of a false positive test.

Matt Patricia said before practice on Wednesday no one else would miss practice because of Davis.

“I’m not going to comment on any of the COVID stuff as far as that, but nobody would not be out at practice because of JD," he said.
