Michigan Special Olympics basketball teams win medals at USA Games

SEATTLE (WXYZ) -- Two basketball teams representing Michigan won medals Thursday at the Special Olympics USA Games.

The traditional basketball team, hailing from Pontiac, lost to Team Washington in the championship game, earning the silver medal.

In the Unified basketball division, Team Michigan (based in Monroe) beat Team Maryland to capture the bronze. Unified teams consist of players with and without intellectual disabilities.
