(WXYZ) — The Detroit Pistons have reportedly been granted a $9.2 million disabled player exception for Blake Griffin's injury.

According to Shams Charania, the team applied for the exception earlier this month and was granted it on Wednesday.

Griffin only played in 18 games this season due to a knee injury, and he underwent surgery for an "arthroscopic debridement of his left knee" on Jan. 7.
