(WXYZ) — The Detroit Tigers will honor "Mr. Tiger" Al Kaline ahead of the team's home opener on Monday night.
There will be a pregame memorial for Kaline to recognize his Hall of Fame career and impact on the Tigers and baseball communities.
The pre-game ceremony will begin at 6:40 p.m. on Fox Sports Detroit, along with the traditional Opening Day on-field introductions, the virtual National Anthem and more.
The team is already wearing a "6" patch on the uniforms, and there will be a recognition flag reading "KALINE" flown in center field. Base jewels will also honor Kaline.
