(WXYZ) — Detroit Red Wings Senior Vice President Jim Devellano has undergone successful surgery to remove a brain tumor, the team announced on Monday.

Devallano, 76, underwent the procedure on the non-cancerous tumor, and is currently resting in his hospital room. His doctor was Vittorio Morreale.

This is Devallano's 38th season with the Red Wings and 53rd in the NHL. He's the longest-serving hockey employee in the team's history, and has seven Stanley Cups.
