(WXYZ) — The Lions have a deal with free agent running back C.J. Anderson, according to multiple reports.
Anderson had a major emergence last season and in the playoffs with the Rams once Todd Gurley missed games at the end of the season.
The Lions have been searching for a backup running back to help Kerryon Johnson in the backfield.
It's a one-year deal for Anderson, who wants to prove himself again and find another deal next offseason, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
The Lions signed Zach Zenner earlier this offseason, and have Theo Riddick returning, too.
Former Rams’ RB C.J. Anderson reached agreement on a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions, per source. Chance to produce this season, then hit market again after this season.
