DETROIT — Shinola is encouraging people to vote, and the Detroit-based company is hosting a virtual event this week for anyone who wants to join the conversation.
On Thursday, Shinola is partnering with 'I am a voter.' for a digital roundtable, aimed at "all things ‘voting’: why it matters, why it’s our mission, and how to get involved on both a national level and locally in our hometown of Detroit," the company said.
Shinola CEO Shannon Washburn will join 'I am a voter.' founder Mandana Dayani, Pistons vice chairman Arn Tellem, and Pistons great Rick Mahorn for a public Zoom conversation at 5 p.m. on Thursday. You can click here to join.
Actor Anthony Mackie will join the group with a taped message. The 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier' star created IAMAMAN.vote, an initiative aimed at getting one million men to register to vote.
Shinola also launched a new watch, called 'I Voted.' It was created for the 2020 election, and is part of the company's efforts to build more voter registration awareness. Shinola and 1xRun are pledging to donate $3,000 to the Pistons 'Get In the Game: VOTE' initiative.
